July 27, 2011 – Demand by Canadian and North American consumers for lower priced meats is increasing and this is demonstrated by an increase in purchases of turkey thigh meat, according to the Market Report in the summer edition of the Turkey Farmers of Canada newsletter Plume.

The report says that the shift may be in response to the recent financial crisis and global recession and increases in energy costs.
