PIP Innovation Showcase: Creating Novel Materials with Poultry By-Products

Print this page

April 07, 2021

For the Poultry Innovation Partnership’s monthly Innovation Showcase webinars, Aman Ullah will discuss his work to reduce waste by-products in the poultry industry. Spent hens and poultry feathers are considered as a waste by-product because their existing uses are economically marginal and they contribute to environmental pollution due to the disposal problems. Over the last nine years, Ullah’s lab has developed novel materials using poultry byproducts such as biosorbents for water treatment, biochemicals and high performance hybrid bio/nanocomposites for packaging and other industrial applications. This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of byproduct utilization and sustainable solutions using a circular economy concept with large economic and environmental benefits.
