Measuring Performance Beyond Productivity (Peter Harthoorn, MNP).
There is a wide range of return-on-investment for poultry operations. What are you doing right and where are you missing the boat? How can you get yourself into the top 25%?
Geofencing: The Facts, the Myths, the Benefits (Joel Sotomayor, Be Seen Be Safe).
Our farms have all been ‘Geofenced’ as part of an Alberta poultry industry pilot project remotely logging all farm visits by registered users. Learn about how this program benefits your farm based on experiences from Ontario, where they have already implemented the system.
Brooding Poultry in the RWA World (Ken Rice, Maple Leaf Poultry).
Managing the modern poultry barn has become increasingly high-tech. However, technology cannot replace good barn management skills and ‘chicken-sense’. Getting our flocks off to a clean, strong start and getting on top of issues before things go off the rails is becoming more critical as birds get more efficient and as we move into a ‘raised-without-antibiotics’ world.
Poultry Research with Impact (Various Alberta Poultry Research Project Leaders).
Potential for impact on Alberta poultry farms is a major evaluation criteria for funding poultry research projects. Hear project updates on several current programs taking a bite out of some of the biggest industry concerns of today.
Deconstructing Construction Requirements (Andy Cumming, NRCB).
Are you considering a poultry barn construction but are unsure of the permitting process? Andy is presenting a practical guide to AOPA permitting requirements to help you start the planning and construction process without unnecessary delays.
Supporting Immune Function in a Post-Antibiotic World (Doug Korver, University of Alberta).
Doug speaks Internationally on the links between nutrition, immune function, and gut health in layers, turkeys, broilers, and broiler breeders. Hear about the challenges and opportunities your sector faces!
