Available in various pan-per-tube configurations, each Genesis Double Pan Feeder offers 18 grill openings. Fast, 165-feet-per-minute (50-metres-per-minute) auger speed keeps the feeder loop filled with feed for immediate delivery to every pan every time the feeding system runs. Dual feed inlets in every feeder promote even distribution and accommodate a variety of feed types.
With the Genesis Feeder, all birds are presented with an identical, unpicked-over ration at feeding time. Though it supports skip-a-day feeding, the feeder can handle a small enough volume for daily feeding if desired. They are able to uniformly deliver the quantity of feed specified to every pan in feeding system loops up to 600 feet (183 metres) long.
The feeder is also designed to reduce waste. Birds tend to keep their heads over the Genesis Feeder while eating, so any dropped feed falls into the pan's built-in catch area for birds to consume. Tests show feed savings of up to seven tons (6.6 tonnes) for pullets and eight tons (7.4 tonnes) for breeder hens per 10,000-bird flock.
The feeder provides comfortable perimeter eating for birds. Each double pan features Chore-Time's patented scalloped grill, which curves to fit the bird's breast and offers lower areas for easy feed access for pullets. The upper grill includes openings that deliver more light and air to birds while they eat. Flood windows are available in the pullet feeder and also in an all-in, all-out breeder model. The feeder's unique 45-degree angle on the feeder tube provides more space between pans for easier access to drinkers and nests.
The breeder feeders include an adjustable grill to keep roosters from eating the females' feed ration. Breeder producers can rotate the grill-top selector dial to fine-tune the width of the grill openings from 41 to 50 millimetres in one-millimetre increments. A height limiter ring is used to set the height of each grill opening to between 55 and 75 millimetres.
