
Handling chicks leads to Salmonella outbreak

Features Farmer Health/Safety Health Biosecurity Business/Policy Protection United StatesJul. 23, 2012 – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has said that the Salmonella outbreak that has hit more than 70 people from 20 states stems from Estes Hatchery in Missouri.
The mail-order hatchery, according to an article in the News Leader, has remained open during the outbreak and has continued to ship birds all over the U.S.
