An Ontario ILT Biosecurity Advisory Area for the eastern part of Norfolk County remains in place.

DATE: May 30, June 6

LOCATIONS: Norfolk County

DETAILS: The infected chicken broiler farm is expected to regain its ILT negative status in late October. The site has been emptied of the birds present during initial infection and recommended disease control and eradication measures have been applied. The first vaccinated flock has been shipped to slaughter and clean up protocols are being repeated. The next flock will also be vaccinated at the hatchery. Enhanced biosecurity and monitoring of broiler farms in the risk area continues.
