“We are filling a need in the marketplace by bringing high-level, international innovation to Canadian poultry producers,” says Jordon Underhill, general manager and founder of the Canadian Poultry XPO. “CPX programming will challenge the minds of existing poultry producers while introducing new entrant producers to a dynamic industry.”
CPX will feature:
- Three major trade show halls with over 200 poultry-focused exhibiting companies from more than 30 countries
- 400 ft. state-of-the-art Poultry Demo Coliseum with interactive demonstrations showcasing the latest in robotics and innovation
- World-class education and knowledge transfer through global speakers, industry experts and producer panels
- Hospitality and networking opportunities for producers and industry
“The highest concentration of commercial poultry production in the country is within a two-hour radius of Stratford,” says Brian Terpstra, business manager at Trouw Nutrition Canada (Nutreco Shur-Gain), a CPX founding partner.
“We’re pleased that CPX will launch in the heart of poultry country, at a proven rural location and during a time of year that doesn’t conflict with major on-farm activities.”
Underhill notes that he and his team have identified several cross-connections between the Canadian dairy and poultry industries at a producer and industry level that will help ensure CPX has a diverse, motivated audience.
“We surveyed our attendees at the Canadian Dairy XPO for several years and learned that 49 per cent of dairy producers have interest or are currently involved in poultry production,” says Underhill.
“We know that dairymen also make good poultry producers and have a comfort level investing in another supply-managed sector. Through CPX, we will offer a place for dairymen to connect with established poultry producers, gain knowledge and help grow the Canadian poultry sector.”
