Suspect high-path AI in Ontario turkey flock

Preliminary testing by the Animal Health Lab at University of Guelph has confirmed the presence of a highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza in a commercial turkey flock west of Woodstock in Oxford County. On behalf of the four feather boards, the Feather Board Command Centre is issuing a heightened biosecurity advisory to all commercial producers and small flock growers in a 10 km area around the farm. >> Read full article

H5N2 spreads in Midwest

The USDA has confirmed that H5N2 has been found in a flock of 71,000 turkeys in Stearns County, Minnesota, one of the highest turkey-producing counties in the state. That brings the number of Minnesota turkey farms affected by H5N2 to five. A commercial turkey flock has also tested positive for H5N2 in South Dakota, bringing the total number of outbreaks in the Midwest to 10 farms since early March. >> Read full article
