H5N2 spreads in Minnesota and South Dakota

April 6, 2015 – The USDA has confirmed that H5N2 has been found in a flock of 71,000 turkeys in Stearns County, Minnesota, one of the highest turkey-producing counties in the state.  That brings the number of Minnesota turkey farms affected by H5N2 to five.  A commercial turkey flock has also tested positive for H5N2 in South Dakota, bringing the total number of outbreaks in the Midwest to 10 farms since early March.
