Jean-Pierre Vaillancourt, University of Montreal
Jean-Pierre Vaillancourt is a professor at the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. With a DVM (1983) and MSc (1986) from the University of Montreal and a PhD from the University of Minnesota (1990), Dr. Vaillancourt has held faculty positions at the University of Guelph and North Carolina State University. He has extensive experience in infectious poultry diseases and currently leads the initiative to create the World Animal Biosecurity Association. His presentation will focus on “Vaccinating Against Avian Influenza: Pitfalls and Benefits – Learning from the French.”
Rob Hannam, Farm Health Guardian
Rob Hannam is the CEO of Farm Health Guardian, dedicated to enhancing animal health through digital biosecurity solutions. Growing up on a family grain farm in Ontario, Canada, Rob has over 30 years of experience in the agriculture sector, working in both the U.S. and Canada. His presentation will cover “Digital Biosecurity Monitoring to Reduce Disease Spread Risks,” sharing insights from a swine research project that explored the use of GPS and mapping technology for livestock transport biosecurity.
