Canada phasing out antibiotic use in livestock

April 21, 2014 – Health Canada is moving to phase out use of antibiotic growth promoters in Canadian livestock.  In a notice to stakeholders last week, Health Canada said it is working with the Canadian Animal Health Institute and Canadian drug producers to phase out uses of medically important antibiotics for growth promotion.
