Turkey Farmers of Canada (TFC) donated $35,000 to the BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) Emergency Fund for Farmers, to help support producers in British Columbia affected by the severe weather events. The TFC donation was made under the umbrella of the Wishbone Project.
The BCAC disaster fund focuses on relief efforts and ongoing support for the farm families, and their operations impacted by the flooding and continued heavy rains in the province. TFC’s donation will contribute to these efforts within the BC farm community.
“This donation is a way for all of us across Canada to support our fellow turkey farmers, but also to more generally support farmers and their families across the Fraser Valley,” said Darren Ference, Chair, Turkey Farmers of Canada.
The Wishbone Project/Le Projet Dindons, created in 2020, is the national umbrella for giving established by the Turkey Farmers of Canada, and the Turkey Primary Processor Sector of the Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors Council (CPEPC).
