October 15, 2010 – eBiz Professionals Inc . is pleased to announce the appointment of two new consultants.
Maureen Sykes, who has now completed her business degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, has returned to the company on a full-time basis. Clients will remember Maureen from her two co-op terms with eBiz over the past few years. Having grown up on a family farm raising beef in south-western Ontario, Maureen understands how important our clients’ work is. In her new role, she will work closely with Katija Morley and Theresa Brickell in safefood consulting, our food safety division, helping producers and industry associations with audit preparation and improvements to their food safety programs. Maureen is also working with our traceability team, developing and implementing programs for producer and processor groups.

Scott Allen, Ph.D has also joined eBiz from a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Guelph. Scott’s doctoral research focused on the development of a surface-sensitive imaging tool used in the study of protein adsorption and the degradation of cellulose fibres with applications to the biofuel industry. Scott is a member of the Advanced Food and Materials Network , for whom he has led several programs and organized colloquia for specific areas of study. Notwithstanding the technical nature of his research, Scott has a skill and interest in data mining and in the application of new technology. His work with eBiz will centre on our traceability models and he will be directly involved in expanding our data management capability. Naturally, Scott’s activities in these areas will involve him in our biosecurity assignments.
Maureen and Scott have already joined project teams on several client assignments, and are based in our Guelph offices.
