Company strengthens Canadian operations with Ontario hatchery to enhance chick supply and animal welfare.

Aviagen North America has announced a significant expansion of its operations into Ontario, Canada, through the incorporation of a new local hatchery. This facility will hatch parent stock chicks specifically for the Canadian market, aiming to improve the supply chain for poultry producers in the country.
The strategic move is set to benefit customers in provinces like British Columbia and Alberta by enhancing the security of supply, ensuring they receive healthy, high-quality chicks in a timely manner. By reducing transit times, the new hatchery will also improve animal welfare through quicker and more efficient deliveries.
“Aviagen is fully committed to supporting our Canadian customers,” said Matt Klassen, Canadian Regional Business Manager at Aviagen. “We’ve built strong relationships with these producers, and this investment reflects our dedication to their success. By operating this hatchery, we’re ensuring a reliable supply of robust breeding stock, which is essential for delivering nutritious, sustainable chicken to families across Canada.”
