The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS ) filed a lawsuit in the District
of Columbia against the United Egg Producers (UEP) , the nation's largest egg
industry trade association, and two major egg companies for engaging in
"false and deceptive advertising" to mislead consumers about battery cages.
