Features Business & Policy Trade

December 10, 2008 – The Canadian
International Farm Show (CIFS) is pleased to launch the Annual Producer
of the Year Award at the 2009 edition of the CIFS. Our goal is to
recognize excellence in farm operations or any sort of Agribusiness.

It is our hope that the said
individual, group or Agribusiness will have contributed to the
betterment of the industry. This
Award will cross all agricultural sectors, recognizing farm businesses
that have demonstrated innovation and business practices that maximize
productivity and profitability, shaping the future of Ontario’s
thriving Agribusinesses.

The
CIFS has teamed up with Canada East Equipment Dealers’ Association and
have compiled a committee to crown our first Producer of the Year.

“As
new owners of the Canadian International Farm Show, we feel it’s
important to give credit where credit is due,” says Master Promotions
President Wendell Howes. “It’s our hope that by singling out some of
the best producers in the province, it will ultimately allow the
leaders to encourage others with their innovation, efficiency and
sustainability in their farm practice and perhaps share their knowledge
with the entire farming community.”

Nominees
will be for three categories, including a winner in the small producer
category, which is up to 5 employees, the medium producer, which is
more than 5 and less than 15, and finally the large producer, which is
a producer that has 16 or more employees.

Nomination forms can be filled out online at www.canadianfarmshow.ca .
Just click on the box that says Producer of the Year Award. For your
convenience, a printable version will also be available.

Nominations will be accepted until January 17, 2009.

The
award will be handed out at the Canadian International Farm Show
Industry Dinner on February 3, 2009 in the Conference Centre at the
International Centre in Toronto. This evening of networking and
relaxation will be topped off with some great food and entertainment as
well as the presentation of the hardware for the above-mentioned awards.

This is just one of the many new developments that are part of the Canadian International Farm Show!
