Jul. 29, 2013, Port Williams, NS – Atlantic Poultry Inc. (API) of Nova Scotia has purchased the operating assets of Clark’s Chick Hatchery (CCH) Atlantic Provinces activities from Nutreco Canada Inc.

API has been in the poultry industry for over 70 years, and its operations include broiler hatching egg production, a broiler chick hatchery, commercial table egg production, a modern egg grading facility, a commercial feed milling operation, and is a co-owner of Country Ribbon Inc., a poultry producer and processor located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

“The acquisition of the Clark’s Chick Hatchery operations is a perfect fit to continue API’s growth in this sector of the poultry industry, and is in line with our business strategy set four years ago”, said Ian Blenkharn, CEO of API. “The combination of these two historic Atlantic Canadian operations will not only provide new opportunities but will also strengthen the regional poultry industry.”
