Avian influenza still taking a toll in Quebec

With the latest detection, Quebec surpasses Alberta in terms of the number of confirmed avian flu cases during the 2022-23 outbreak.

Quebec is now the Canadian province with the second most confirmed cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) during the 2022-23 outbreak.

The latest case for the province was confirmed on May 6 in a commercial poultry flock in the Les Maskoutains Regional County Municipality, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
