Alltech Celebrates 20 Years in Canada

customers, partners, university affiliates and friends of Alltech to
their Canadian Headquarters for a barbeque reception and live Irish
music to commemorate 20 years of business in Canada.

June 18, 2009 – On Thursday, June 11th, Alltech welcomed nearly 100 customers, partners, university affiliates and friends of Alltech to their Canadian Headquarters for a barbeque reception and live Irish music to commemorate 20 years of business in Canada.

The crowd was greeted by the Honorable Liz Sandals, Guelph Member of Provincial Parliament along with Ty Yeast, Alltech’s North America Sales Director and Managing Director of Alltech Canada and Aidan Connolly, Alltech Vice President.

“Alltech Canada’s success is due in part to your loyalty and friendship over the years,” Yeast said to the crowd, “We are grateful for your support and look forward to serving you for many more years to come.”

The reception was also held in part to recognize 2009 Alltech Young Animal Science 2nd place award winner and University of Guelph masters student, Yajing Wang for her academic achievement and contribution to the fields of science and agriculture during university studies. Wang’s graduate scholarship submission essay was on dry matter intake in feedlot steers. The 2009 AYS program also awarded Mélodie Beaulieu of Laval University 3rd place winner in the undergraduate regional competition.

Alltech Canada began in 1989 with poultry researcher, Dr. Ted Sefton and two students from the University of Guelph. It is now made up of 26 full-time employees, four warehousing facilities and a Bioscience Center located in Alexandria, ON.

“Thanks to our very successful Canadian team, Alltech has become the 8th ranked animal health company in the world,” Connolly announced.
