The latest detection was confirmed in a commercial poultry flock in Cardston County.

Canada’s first case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) for the month of October has been reported in a commercial poultry flock in Cardston County, Alberta.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the most recent case was confirmed on October 3. CFIA did not disclose the type of poultry in the flock or how many birds were involved.
