CWT Farms International, Inc. has announced key leadership changes, appointing Jay Daniels as president and Greg Carter as director of Canadian sales and planning, both effective August 1.

Daniels, who joined CWT in 2023 as director of Canadian sales and hatchery operations, will succeed Rickey Smith, who is retiring after over 40 years in the poultry industry, 29 of which were at CWT Farms. Daniels brings more than 35 years of industry experience, having held roles in hatcheries, production, customer support, marketing, and forecasting. His educational background includes an associate’s degree in business management from the University of New Hampshire and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Plymouth State University. He has also served on the US Poultry & Egg Association board of directors and the executive board for the Tennessee Poultry Association.

“Jay brings a wealth of experience and visionary leadership to his new role as president of CWT Farms,” says Christopher Hill, CEO. “Under his guidance, we will continue to focus on leadership in hatchery operations and our ongoing expansion plans. We anticipate the exciting future ahead for our organization under Jay’s leadership.”

Daniels is excited to start his new role. “I am excited to lead this forward-thinking company and tackle the challenge of our ever-evolving industry. The launch of our inaugural hatchery in Watertown, NY, expands our product line to include day-old chicks, fostering stronger collaborations with our valued customers. We remain committed to being a strategic partner to our clients around the world as we focus on helping them grow and succeed.”

In turn, Carter has been appointed to replace Daniels as the director of Canadian sales and planning. Carter joined CWT on June 1 and will focus on maintaining established relationships with CWT’s Canadian customers and developing new connections. He brings extensive expertise in logistics, planning, sales, and customer support, having previously worked with Aviagen and Hubbard.

“We’re excited to bring Greg on board as we continue to focus on the Canadian market,” says Smith, president of CWT Farms International, Inc. “CWT welcomes Greg with his wide-ranging expertise as he joins the rest of the experienced sales team.”

Carter holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has a decade of experience in the poultry industry.
