Turkey and pickleball unite: Think Turkey serves an ace partnership with Pickleball Canada.

In a surprising yet flavorful twist, Think Turkey has been crowned the National Protein Partner of Pickleball Canada and the Presenting Partner of the highly anticipated 2024 Myoflex Pickleball Canada National Championship.

Pickleball enthusiasts across the nation are set to make turkey their protein of choice as Think Turkey, in collaboration with Pickleball Canada, aims to not only promote a healthy lifestyle but also bolster the growth of the sport in the country.

Darren Ference, Chair of Turkey Farmers of Canada, emphasized the benefits of turkey as a lean and nutritious protein, stating, “As a lean and nutritious protein, turkey can keep professional and everyday athletes at the top of their game.” The partnership aspires to tap into the thriving pickleball community and introduce more Canadians to this family-friendly sport.

This year-long partnership between Think Turkey and Pickleball Canada promises an array of exciting activations, from athlete appearances to pop-up courts, giveaways, and grassroots initiatives such as new youth programming. Additionally, Think Turkey will sponsor the Pickleball Canada Regional and National Championships.

“We are proud to welcome Think Turkey to the Pickleball Canada family of partners,” expressed Val Vollmin, President of Pickleball Canada. “Turkey and pickleball are the perfect match for a healthy lifestyle, and we look forward to sharing that message with pickleball players and fans this year.”

The surge in pickleball’s popularity is undeniable, with nearly 1.4 million Canadians currently participating, marking a remarkable 37% increase from the previous year. The sport’s appeal lies in its social and inclusive nature, coupled with the myriad of health and fitness benefits it offers.

“Like a turkey dinner, pickleball brings people of all ages together,” remarked Mark Hubert, President and CEO of Canadian Poultry and Egg Processors. “We’re thrilled to team up with Pickleball Canada and its star athletes to bring exciting new collaborations and engaging activations to communities throughout the year.”

To celebrate this savory partnership and entice more Canadians to try both pickleball and turkey, Think Turkey is hosting a contest offering a chance to win one of five pickleball paddle sets. Additionally, all contest entrants will be eligible for a grand prize draw with a chance to win one of ten $100 grocery gift cards, ensuring their fridges are stocked with turkey for pre-and post-game meals.
