August 16, 2011 – Scientific abstract submissions are now open for the XXIV World's Poultry Congress. The Congress runs from August 5 to August 9, 2012 and is being held in Salvador, Brazil.
Researchers, professors and doctors can submit their abstracts to the WPC 2012 online at at www.wpc2012.com.
The abstracts will be evaluated by a committee responsible for each field of study between January 16 and February 28, 2012.
The categories for submission are:
1. Student Program – Abstracts of undergraduate and graduate students up to 30 years of age. This program's goal is to encourage university students by increasing interest in research projects in the area of poultry science. The selected students will receive benefits, such as stay during the WPC in 2012, and tour between July 29 and August 5, 2012 to technical activities in poultry in southern Brazil.
2. Young Scientist – Recent graduates, under 35 years, who have a masters and/or PhD and were born in developing countries may submit their abstracts in this category. This is a unique opportunity to display work of younger researchers to an international audience.
3. General – Researchers interested in submitting their abstracts to the WPC 2012 and who do not fit into either category above, can apply for this category.
After pre-selection, there will be a distinction between projects (which will be presented orally) and those who will be displayed on bulletin boards at the Convention Center of Salvador. The work will be seen by an estimated audience of 9,000 visitors of the XXIV World's Poultry Congress, including technicians, producers, entrepreneurs and experts from all continents.
The distribution of oral presentation participants will be made respecting the field of the scientific program prepared for the WPC 2012. The list of specific fields is available on the event website at: http://www.wpc2012.com/
